u11s Champions League Final (26th July
2008)
Millers 2-1 Mossley Hill
JO-EL HEFFEY & JO-EL WOODS SEND THEIR RAFA OFF TO SPAIN PRETTY JOEL-Y !
Having suffered an embarrasing scoreline in the group match against todays opponents, Mossley Hill
came out onto the awesome Ormskirk pitch with a determined look on their faces to put the record straight.
The Millers side weren't allowed to settle and get into any sort of rythmn at all and it was Mossley Hill who looked
the more threatening and no surprise when James's superbly struck shot on the 10min mark hit the
back of the net giving the keeper no chance and silencing the Miller supporters.
The red shirts of Millers seemed a little shocked that they hadn't drawn first blood but within 10mins a Joel
Woods free-kick brought the sides level and it was his turn to silence the Mossley Hill line.
Although there was mutual respect between the players of the two sides, both obviously having won their respective domestic
leagues, there was still a lot of tough tackling and desire to be crowned the Kings of Liverpool in a full-blooded affair
which went right to the final whistle.
The deciding goal came from Joel Heffey, who slotted home the winner just before the
break to send his Miller managers off to their four-day Spanish search for more stars of the future with the title of Champions
of Liverpool !.
The tournament's Golden Boot award was lifted by Miller's striker Ryan Ellison with his 5 goals
in 4 matches proving enough to receive the accolade alongside Luke Brennan's award for the Jimmy Aspinall
Player of the Tournament.

u11s Semi-Finals (19th July)
Mossley Hill 3-2 The Reds, Millers 5-3 Ormskirk WE
REDS FAIL TO CLIMB OVER THE HILL AS MUSCAT SHOWS WEST END THE DOOR!
Another brilliant performance from Millers helps take them to the final of the Champions League and possibly
establish themselves as the best in the city. In a tight affair, Ormskirk West End threw everything at the tournament
favourites with Peterson, Tabern, and Charnock all finding the back of the
Millers net but another fine display from Muscat-Vaughan (2) set the scene for a 5-3 victory
and a place in the 2008 final with others on target L Smith, Yates and top goalscorer Ellison hitting
his fifth in three matches.
Millers will meet Mossley Hill for the second time in this years competition, after they overturned a 0-1 deficit
to win an exciting battle over Group winners and Belle Vale champions The Reds to reach the final. A well disciplined
performance helped Mossley Hill to take a 3-1 lead after goals come from Martin, Cusack and Forrester despite
Rankin's opener and Owen's late strike unable to save the day for The Reds.
u11s Group A (13th July)
Mossley Hill 1-7 Millers, MacMillan 2-0 Kingsley Utd (walkover)
MILLERS ARE MORE THAN JOLLY WITH A DOUBLE ELL!
A superb Ellison brace helped Millers 100% record continue to impress the watching
crowds and scouts, with five more players adding to their tallies - Muscat, Yates, Brennan (MoM), Smith and Jennings
completing the demolition over Mossley Hill who also qualify through the group stages and will face The Reds, while Ormskirk
WE will host Millers in the other semi-final.
u11s Group B (13th July)
The Reds 4-2 Ormskirk WE. Northfield 1-1 St Annes Rovers
INTERNATIONAL REDS RANK-IN WITH THE BEST, WHILE IT'S ALL ROVER FOR ANNES and NORTHFIELD!
A nail biting end to group B saw The Reds head the group thanks to a treble from Rankin and
Barnes hitting the trail again, with Ormskirk's Peterson & Hilton hitting the two decisive strikes
that helped put them through as group runners-up over St Annes Rovers who narrowly miss out in qualification due to the "number
of goals scored" rule -the goal difference identical between the clubs. Northfield (Scott) & Rovers
(White) hammered out a 1-1 draw scoring within a minute of each other in the first period and both bow out
of the competition with heads held high as Champions of their own leagues in Anfield and St Helens.
u11s Group A (12th July)
Mossley Hill 5-1 MacMillan, Millers 2-0 Kingsley Utd
JACK ATTACK HELPS PUT MacMILLAN OUT AS MILLERS GET A 'WALK OVER'
Two more goals from Mossley Hill forward Bryant taking his total to four in two matches
gave his side the edge over a hardworking Scottie Road side that lacked the finishing touch.
Other players on the scorecard were James, Baxter & Forrester which takes the Mossley Hill side
into the semi-finals along with Millers who received a 2-0 win over Kingsley Utd.
u11s Group B (12th July)
The Reds 3-0 Northfield, St Annes Rovers 3-3 Ormskirk WE
REDS GO THROUGH TO SEMI'S AS GROUP WINNERS, WHILE A PRITCHARD TREBLE STILL CAN'T GET 3pts FOR SAINTS!
With a second successive victory The Reds head group B and are certain to still be there with one more
match to play v Ormskirk WE.
A goal from Barnes on the stroke of half-time gave the Reds the lead and with two further
efforts within a two minute spell midway through the second period from Owen & Forrester hitting the
back of the Northfield net, it proved too much of a hill to climb for the Anfield champions despite a valiant effort and a
great display from keeper Gallagher.
The runner-up position is wide open in this group, with treble winners St Annes seemingly having made
themselves favourites taking a 2-0 half-time lead and enjoying the majority of possession. But Ormskirk fought back
with goals from Hilton, Alben and McHoughen taking the lead with 10mins remaining.
Annes re-ignited themselves with 5mins on the clock when Pritchard brought the scores level and notched his
third of the game! A terrific Champions League match with a superb attitude from all players on the pitch, Rovers' McWaters
receiving the MoM with a number of stars on both sides in contention for the award.
u11s Group A (6th July)
Mossley Hill 3-0 Kingsley Utd, Millers 8-3 MacMillan
BRYANT BRACE SINKS KINGSLEY, WHILE THREE DOUBLES DO THE TRICK FOR MILLERS!
Two early goals (Cusack & Bryant) got the Mossley Hill machine in motion as an understrength
Kingsley side struggled to get any sort of rythmn to their game. A second from Bryant wrapped up the
points in the opening Group A fixture.
Millers, in the Liverpool strip, fought back from a two goal deficit to eventually run out easy winners
recording an 8-3 victory over Scotland Road champions MacMillan playing in the blue of Everton. The Miller boys
hitting the target today were Brennan, Ellison & S Smith all with doubles, while J Woods
(sounds like a cracking player!) and Muscat the other two on the goal trail. The MacMillan scorers
were Murphy (2) and Keith.
u11s Group B (6th July)
The Reds 3-1 St Annes Rovers, Ormskirk West End 1-1 Northfield
BARNES & OWEN ON TARGET FOR REDS IN CHAMPIONS LEAGUE (where have I read that one before?) WHILE
NORTHFIELD & ORMSKIRK CAN'T BE SPLIT!
The Reds were the first out of the starting blocks with two goals in the opening 10mins from Owen
& Barnes, giving them a great platform to build on. St Annes had more than their fair share of possession
but failed to hit the killer strike until the Reds had hit a third from Taylor. It was left for White
to claim a deserved consolation goal with both him and Reds Robinson claiming the MoMs.
Ormskirk West End & Anfield Champions, Northfield battled out a 1-1 draw to share the points which could
well be the point which takes either of them through to the semi-finals in two weeks.

WADDICAR

u12s Champions League Final (26th July
2008)
Netherley WLL 0-1 Waddicar
IF ANYONE CAN, CALLA-GHAN !
Just the toss of a coin, 30mins prior to kick-off, gave Waddicar the sign that it was going to be their
day as the win determined which side should be playing in their desired colours of sky/blue and white.
On a glorious day, the sun shone down on the two victorious finalists who'd battled their way through the mountain of
matches, which had started way back on the road in September 2007 in their own league programmes (Bootle &
Netherton and Belle Vale) to eventually come down to 60mins of blood, sweat and tears to discover which side would be crowned
the Champions of Liverpool, sponsored by KitKing and Trophies for All.
An end to end battle wth great personal contests across the whole of the pitch. Both keepers were in magnificent
form keeping their opponents at bay until a scrambled goal with 15mins remaining gave the Bootle side the edge
with O'Callaghan claiming the last touch of the ball before it crossed the Legion line.
Netherley pushed for the equaliser, hitting the woodwork, off the line clearance, missed chances, it was always going
to be a Waddicar day when the toss was won before the kick-off!
Liam Evans received the Golden Boot for his 4 goals in the tournament and captain of the winning side
Dominic McGiveron picked up the Jimmy Aspinall Player of the Tournament - well done, as all three officials
were by the end of a pulsating match!.
Both sets of players, supporters and the Managers were a credit to the game of football, as have all the other matches
been at Edge Hill Sports complex, supressing the recent bad press on junior football in the Merseyside area. (The newspapers
publish the bad bits - but very rarely the good are heard about! Well done to you all.)

u12s Semi-Finals (19th July)
Belvedere 0-2 Netherley WLL, Townsend Boys 0-4 Waddicar
HOLDERS OUT, WHILE WADDICAR PUT AN END TO THE BOYS IN TOWN!
Belvedere lost their grip on the trophy as they were overcome by a strong Netherley side. Although
a determined effort to retain their title was thwarted by the two strikes from the duo of Aitkin & Irvine
who were left to do the damage for the Legion. Another impeccable display from both sides emulating the tournament's
good behaviour policy from the players - a credit to the clubs.
Waddicar put on a superb show for their watching supporters as they took care of group winners Townsend in a formidable
display to storm into the final with four strikes coming from McGiveron, Sankoh and another brace from Evans
without reply. Townsend have given the tournament a great deal of excitement and hopefully they can return in 2009 to
try once more.
u12s Group A (13th July)
SMT 2-4 Belvedere, Townsend Boys 3-0 Merton Villa
TOWNS-END VILLA DREAMS AS BELVEDERE STILL HOPE TO BE CROWNED "KINGS OF THE NORTH" AGAIN!
2007 winners, Belvedere gained their second victory in the space of two days to see them join Townsend from
Group A into the semi-finals next weekend with a hardworking performance over SMT who only required a point for qualification.
Goal from Swords (2), Connor and Smith helped by MoM Callaghan earned the 3pts to leapfrog
their opponents who had Stokes & Speed on target.
Townsend who'd made certain of their semi-final place yesterday, enjoyed a "no pressure" match with a 3-0 victory
over Scotland Road champions MacMillan, who despite gaining no points had given all three of their group rivals
difficult matches and excellent competitors. Glegg hitting the hatrick trail to claim the matchball
for Townsend.
u12s Group B (13th July)
Netherley WLL 3-0 Woolton W, 1-2 Fur & Feather 0-5 Waddicar
WADDICAR LOOK TO THE EVANS FOR INSPIRATION AND NETHERLEY'S GOLD SHOW TAKES THEM TOP.
NWLL left their best performance to date for their final group match to finish as group winners with a Keegan
brace and a single from Irving making them look once again like an awesome team and possible favourites
to lift the trophy. Woolton fought well and were unlucky not to convert at least a couple of chances with the NWLL keeper
Wilson having a great game.
Waddicar having been at the foot of the table needed a two goal victory over Furs to go through to the next
round and gave a five-star performance with Evans & Dixon claiming two each and McGowan
the other striker hitting the mark to help his side jump into runners-up spot. Furs looked to be in a strong position
prior to kick-off but fell away as Waddicar gained momentum the longer the match went on.
u12s Group A (12th July)
SMT 0-1 Townsend Boys, Merton Villa 3-4 Belvedere
A THRILLER WITH THE VILLA MAKES ISTANBUL LOOK LIKE KIDS STUFF, AS TOWNSEND GO CLEAR AT THE SUMMIT!
Merton Villa seemed to be coasting to victory with an impressive display for the first 40mins against holders
Belvedere, taking a 3-0 lead, but last years winners fought back with Fitzpatrick, Hudson and a brace
from Connor sealing the fighback in the dying minutes of a pulsating match which emptomises the competition
and desire to win from both clubs.
A lone strike from Clegg gave his side three more points against joint leaders SMT and
a guaranteed spot in the semi-finals next week for Townsend Boys. SMT only need a least a draw to hold
onto second spot against holders Belvedere in a nail-biting end to this group.
u12s Group B (12th July)
Netherley WLL 1-2 Fur & Feather, Waddicar 2-2 Woolton W
FURS GO TOP AS WADDICAR AND WOOLTON SHARE THE POINTS.
Another extremely tight group with all four sides still in with a chance of finishing top with a victory
for any of the four sides in their final group matches giving them a guaranteed spot into the semi. Pole position sits
Fur & Feather having defeated NWLL with a splendid performance from keeper Lynch and goals from Davies
& Kelly lifting them over NWLL despite a late Keegan strike.
Two goals from Willis was not enough for Warriors to claim all 3pts as Waddicar kept in themselves in
the race with goals from Moore & McGiveron and another tight 2-2 draw!
u12s Group A (5th July)
Belvedere 1-3 Townsend Boys, S.M.T 5-4 Merton Villa
SMT GET STOKED UP, AS TOWNS-END CHAMPIONS RUN!
The opening Champions League match of 2008 paired the holders Belvedere (formerly Progress) with
last years beaten semi-finalists Townsend Boys.
Townsend gained a noteable scalp having led 2-0 (Leddy, White) at the break, the lead was
reduced midway through the second period but the greens restored their two goal advantage with their last strike
coming from Edwards.
In the same group SMT (Murphy,Davies) raced to a 4-1 lead helped by a brace from Stokes.
The stunned Merton (Buckley, Stephenson, O'Connor)eventually got their game into gear pegging the score back
to 4-3. A late strike from the SMT (Vernon)striker seemed to ease the nerves but Merton yet again pulled
one back with SMT holding on to secure all 3pts.
u12s Group B (5th July)
Netherley WLL 2-0 Waddicar, Woolton W 1-1 Fur & Feather
LEGION MARCH ON, WHILE WARRIORS DRAW FIRST BLOOD IN FUR FIGHTBACK!
All four sides found the going just as tough in Grp B with Fur & Feather eventually getting
a late equalizer through substitute Kelly after Cook had put Woolton Warriors ahead in the
second half.
Netherley Wood Lane Legion got off to an early start this year with a hard fought 2-0 victory over Bootle
side Waddicar with Dunleavy capturing the MoM award, and it's them who head the group after the
first weekend. Some of the footballing being played on the opening day has been a delight to watch with the quality
of the pitches helping to bring out the best in the players abilities.

VALE ARE CHAMPIONS OF LIVERPOOL!
An unfortunate end to a great u13s competition, with Allerton having decided to continue with their successful
tour in Holland despite winning their group in this year's Champions League and taking care of Ormskirk WE in the semi-final.
Belle Vale, who accounted for Finn Harps (2-1) in the semi-final, kicked the game off and were crowned as Champions of
Liverpool adding to their other titles of South Liverpool League and North West Champions League with the Knowsley International
their next objective next weekend in an all-inspiring Capital of Culture 2008 year.
The Player of the Tournament was picked up by Kieron Owens of Belle Vale with the Top Goalscorer
(because it's not a Golden Boot !) was a three way split with Nathan Dykstra (Belle Vale) and the Allerton
duo of Ryan Cox and Jamie Downing all scoring 5 goals, with each receiving an award.

u13s Semi-Finals (20th July)
Ormskirk WE 1-2 (aet) Allerton, Belle Vale 2-1 Finn Harps
ALLERTON DO JUST ENOUGH AS HARPS ARE HUNTER-D DOWN IN VALE COMEBACK!
The teams who drew first blood in today's u13s semi-finals, both failed to retain their advantages and were
left to think of what might have been. The ormskirk side fought bravely to take a much deserved but unexpected
lead through Fowell, but Allerton's spirit brought them back into a game which seemed to have been lost
until McCarthy got them level and send the tie into extra-time. With just 3mins on the clock, up popped Marland's
25yrd screamer to send Allerton into the final. Dismay for Ormskirk but a lovely gesture from the Allerton lads giving
their beaten adversaries three cheers at the end of play.
Belle Vale did a similar account, but in normal time, as Finn Harps took the lead early in the second
half. Impressive personal displays from Hunter & Owens helped the South Liverpool champions back
into the match with goals from Dykstra & Donnahey giving them the edge over the Merseyside & Halewood title
holders.
u13s Group A (12th July)
Finn Harps 1-0 Ormskirk WE, Millennium 3-2 Marine
JOYCE STRIKE TAKE THE POINTS, WHILE MARINE THROW AWAY A TWO GOAL LEAD
Finn Harps cemented their lead at the top of the group with another military precision performance, a solitary
strike from Joyce enough to take the 3pts and head the group and a guaranteed spot into the semi-finals next
weekend.
Marine threw away a 2-0 lead after Lewis & Doyle had done a professional job in
the first half over Millennium. But the Tuebrook fighting spirit returned to the Millennium ranks after the interval
and a great fightback resulted with a superb 3-2 victory.
u13s Group B (12th July)
Swanside Boys 0-3 Belle Vale, Phythian 0-10 Allerton
PHYTHIAN GIVEN TEN OF THE BEST AS VALE TURN THE GROUP UPSIDE DOWN
Allerton romped home against an understrength Phythian side giving an outstanding goalscorer display with
hat-trick heroes Cox & Downing while a Brown brace was helped with singles from McCartney
and Billy Smart.
An understrength Swanside suffered an unusual and unaccustomed defeat when a hardworking Belle Vale team
gained three strikes Owens, Marlow & Dykstra all hitting the mark without reply.
u13s Group A (6th July)
Finn Harps 2-0 Millennium, Marine 0-3 Ormskirk West End
HARPS & WEST END TAKE ALL 3pts WITH BOTH MILLENNIUM & MARINE UNABLE TO HIT THE SCORESHEET!
Finn Harps gained a terrific victory over Tuebrook champions Millennium to top the group in their opening
encounter on the Ormskirk pitches despite a superb display at the rearguard from Millennium's Riley.
Ormskirk West End turned over much fancied Walton & Kirkdale champions Marine with a class display with goals coming
from Rowlands, Williams and Smith. Marine meet Finn Harps in their next match and need something out
of that to stay in the tournament!
u13s Group B (6th July)
Swanside Boys 5-1 Phythian, Belle Vale 1-5 Allerton
THE BELL TOLLS FOR PHYTHIAN WITH ALLERTON RINGING VALE'S BELLE TOO!
Two great performances from two in form sides, Swanside having been beaten in the last two finals of this
competition are looking to take home the trophy with Bell hitting the hat-trick trail along with single
strikes by Bradshaw & Jones. Phythian, winners of the 2006 tournament battled well and will be
keen to get something in their next match against Allerton. Two goals apiece from Cox & Downing
paved the way for a great team performance with Brown finishing off the scoring and Donnehey
the sole replier from Belle Vale, who'd won the North West Champions League tournament the previous day!

u14s Champions League Final (26th July

Houldings 3-4 Warner Boys
HOWARD HAS THE WINNING WAY FOR WARNER !
Another superb first half display from the only unbeaten u14s side laid the foundation for the
Merseyside & Halewood champions to raise the roof and tell the rest of the city they're the best team around.
Yet another strike, his 9th of the five matches, gave Matty Howard, the tournament Golden Boot winner, the
opening goal on the 10min mark after great work from Parry left the inform marksman with a simple
tap in from close range.
The Houldings side, short of a few first team regulars, looked short of idea's and with two further blows
on the stroke of half-time from Parry & Fitzpatrick (pen), there seemed no way back at 0-3 for the
Anfield champions.
With 15mins remaining, Houdlings reduced the deficit in what appeared to be just a late consolation from Atherton,
which was quickly restored back to a three goal margin when Hardy rounded off a splendid performance with
a Georgie Best type goal.
Just 5mins left on the clock, Houldings astonishingly served up two goals from Caldwell & Atherton
again and had Warner swaying on the ropes. Too little too late, as the whistle blew for the end of a pulsating
last quarter of the match, which had both sets of supporters on the edge of their seats.
The Jimmy Aspinall, Player of the Tournament, also came from the Warner ranks, with Andy Hardy
claiming the trophy with the final performance of this years 2008 Champions League competition.

BOTH BOOTLE BOYS BOW OUT, AS HOULDINGS HIT FINAL AT THIRD ATTEMPT & HOWARD'S WAY IS
THE RIGHT WAY!
Two first half strikes from tournament top goalscorer Howard gave Warner the perfect start
to reach their first champions league final at the first time of asking. Crosby Stuart fought bravely in the second
period reducing the deficit with 15mins remaining and then were unluckly when Menagh slammed the ball which was brilliantly
turned onto the woodwork by Mills.
Billy Wilson's Houldings side battled bravely against two time winners Thornton (2005 & 2006) giving
them no time to settle on the ball. It was Leahy who hit the opener with a thunderous drive and with
a second adding to their advantage Thornton found it just too much of a mountain to climb dispite a last minute strike proving
to be just a consolation. A nice touch from Thornton's Matty Devine was appreciated by the Houldings
defence when after a brilliantly saved tip onto the bar by the Houldings stand-in keeper then had the re-bound seemingly saved
again by a Houldings defender - referee's decision was a corner which was quickly opposed by the Thornton attacker and
a goal-kick was then awarded. Devine intervention persuading the referee to review his decision. Well done Matty, a
nice gesture at 0-1 down with only 15mins remaining!
How many other players would have done the same thing?
u14s Group A (5th July)
Thornton Boys 4-2 Mayfield, Skem Rangers 2-1 Crosby Stuart
A DEVINE START FOR THORNTON, AS SUB SIMPSON LEAVES IT LATE!
Thornton Boys got their fourth consecutive Champions League campaign off to a winning start with an impressive
performance against last years semi-finalists Mayfield, a two goal strike from Devine and one from Lee
Dailey helped them race to a 3-0 lead and with the points seemingly in the bag before the break. But Mayfield
subs White & Moran conspired to lift their side back into a match that appeared beyond rescue at 3-2,
but Thornton grabbed a late goal from sub Pruden securing all 3pts and top spot in the group.
Skem Rangers came from behind against Crosby Stuart (Harvey) with firstly a Quine
header to bring the sides level and then a last gasp winner from off the bench Simpson giving the
new boys a great start in their opening match.
u14s Group B (5th July)
Warner Boys 5-1 New Brighton, St Annes Rvrs 0-1 Houldings
BRIGHTON ARE SHOWN THE HOWARD'S WAY, AS ST ANNE'S FAIL TO HOULD-ON FOR A POINT!
A great start for Warner Boys as both forwards claimed all five goals against a stunned New Brighton side
with an excellent display from the Donnelly (2) and match ball winner Howard (3).
A superb final goal from Anglesey giving the Wirral side a late consolation.
A very much tighter affair in the other Grp B match saw Houldings eventually break the deadlock through
man-of-the-match Leahy to give his side all 3pts.
Champions League 2007
This years finals will played at the once all inspiring surroundings of Kirkby Sports Centre, the last football
to be played at the impressive stadium before bulldozers transform the site into something else!

u11 Champions League Final 2007
A Rea of Sunshine proves its all Rover for Cables
Progress Rovers 2-0 Prescot Cables
The teams had already met in their first champions league group game with Rovers dominating that one by 4-1.
But this one proved a lot tighter dispite Rea converting
in the first 5mins of the match. The game flowed from end to end on a massive pitch for the u11s, with every player
giving their all to try and capture the Champions League winners medal, but with both keepers in stupendous form there was
little chance of this being a high scoring game. The nail-biting Roverites had to wait til the last five 5mins
before Jones unearthed his wonder goal to ease the tension and
eventually claim their rewards giving Progress Rovers their new club name of Belvedere FC an even more meaningful "Kings
of the North" Pear Tree's Connor Cavanagh received his award
for the Player of theTournament at the end of the match.

u12 Champions League Final 2007
Its an upHILL task for Swanside
Mossley Hill 1-0 Swanside Boys
Both sides had 100% records going into the final having both won their group with relative ease. There was very
little to separate the teams in this one with Mossley Hill having strength in dept just edging it over arch-rivals
Swanside. A single strike from Dogshon earned his side
the title of Champions of Champions with Steve Jones' side left to pick up a runners-up medal for the second year in
succession - hoping and wishing its 3rd time lucky in 2008? Man-of-the-Match and capturing the player of the tournament
was Swanside's Callum Hill

Lock STOCK and two smoking barrels given to Dalewood
Country Park 3-1 Dalewood
Hot favourites Dalewood, having beaten Country Park in their goup match by 4-1 earlier in the competition, were brought
back down to earth with a bump after conceeding a first half mix-up converted by Stockton.
Golden Boot winner Cleary pulled the scores level with his ninth
of the tornament and was unlucky not to hit double figures and put his side in front before the interval when his clever
lob re-bounding off the Park post. The ever menacing Stockton
claimed his second of the game after good work out on the left-hand side and when Player of the Tournament Charlie Kelly unleashed a free-kick special it was party time for Country Park.

Mundos in a different World than Millenium
Jackymundos 2-0 Millenium Boys
Jackymundos in the final for the first time, were beaten in last years semi-final against Millenium in a pulsating game
which swung first one way and them the other, evetually going all the way to a penalty shoot-out. This years match didn't
possess the drama of that one but it was still as exciting with Belger
hitting the first and then Garvey, late on in the game
to ease the pressure on the Mundos manager, matching him stride for stride in the race to claim the top goalscorer prize,
both players now on six a piece.
Holders Millenium blew hot and cold, just weren't able to resurrect the form of late dispite some excellent personal
performances.
Player of the tournament also came from the Mundos ranks with Kieron
Halleran delighted at winning the treasure awart, one of the highest player accolades in Grass Root football on Merseyside.
