All clubs have now completed their
first group fixture and the tournament is well underway with this weekend proving to be the bowing out for 8 teams 4x u12s,
4x u14s. The successful teams in these age groups will progress to the following weekend 18/19th to play their Semi-final
fixtures
The two late entrants faired pretty
well with Swanside winning impressively by 5-1 against Town Green, whilst Ormskirk West End managed a share the spoils (1-1)
with Diesel Boys in the only mid-week fixture. Last year's winners Waddicar hit Wilko for six, while Belle Vale lost
out by 1-3 against new boys Burford (Edge Hill's first ever entrant), familiar names appeared on the scoresheets with former
golden boot winners Ellison (St Annes Rovers), Peers (Swanside), Cox (Allerton), all finding the back of the net. It's
still early days yet, and plenty to play for as the second of the group fixtures take place on Saturday/Sunday at Ormskirk

- By road, via the M6, off at junction 26, then onto the M58, off at junction 3, taking the A570 towards Southport
and Ormskirk. The campus can also be reached from Preston or Liverpool via the A59.
- By rail, from Liverpool Central to Ormskirk station on Merseyrail’s Northern Line or Preston to Ormskirk
station on Northern Rail.

The competition will kick-off on 4th JULY 2009 with all 32 clubs playing their first group match on either the Saturday
(12/14s) or Sunday (11/13s).
